Les & Marie arrived from Cefalù, we met them in the early afternoon for a walkabout. Here’s a piazza at one end of Vucceria Market, one of the street markets:

The intersection of two of the main pedestrian streets, Via Vittorio Emanuele and Via Maqueda, is flanked by four curved facades. You can’t (and shouldn’t) miss it:
Fontana Pretoria - the fountain of shame - from the 16th century - is right next to the intersection:

There are many family Palazzos in Palermo. This one, Palazzo Conte Federico, from the 17th century, is still owned by the original family. They give tours, I think once a year. Among the artifact that registered in my memory is a piano once played by Richard Wagner:
