Two days: Oct 15 & 16, we covered 3 kietz: Akazienkietz, which is kind of part of Schöneberg, Nollendorfkietz, which straddles Schöneberg & Kreuzberg, and Kreutzberg proper.

In Akazienkietz we stopped at cafe Gottlob for what has become our daily ritual coffee & cake. A beautiful day on a beautiful Platz:

Walking east toward Kreuzberg, we passed through Crelleplatz, which is a peaceful intersection where no traffic is allowed and which is lined with classic beautiful 19th century Berlin apartment buildings. The pics don’t do it justice, need to go back:

…and into Kreutzberg. Walked through Victoriapark, a huge park with one of the many optimistically named ‘berg’s (100-200’ hills) scattered about Berlin. Coming out we heard a trumpet playing, turned out to be this guy who calls himself Beatelephant, playing on a stool outside a cafe/bar. Very smiley, pretty good. We broke with tradition & had an Aperol Spritz (very popular) and a Campari:

Next day after class we returned to Nollendorfkietz & had a good thai lunch at Papaya on Winterfeldtplatz:

…and back into Kreuzberg, where we discovered Bergmannkietz/straße, which houses kind of an indoor market. Very nice:
