First signs of winter; pulled out scarves gloves & hats & headed out for Neuköln for more exploration.
First stop: Friedrichshain farmers' market for fish & potatos, & a cup o' coffee, at Cebe Coffee Roasters on Boxhagener Str:
Neuköln, stumbled onto Kranoldplatz, where families were gathered. Turned out to be lunchtime, we had a bowl of grüne spätzle:
A lot of Neulöln has something of a middle eastern feel…
There are several old cemeteries and kind of open spaces. We walked through one, there were these odd towers. Turns out they're floodlights aligned with the former runway at adjacent Tempelhof field, presumably to guide pilots in at night. Wild:
Passed by an artists' studio Black [female] cat and white [male] cat; and had a coffee at Cafe Pomeranz on LeineStr (very nice!):
Nice cheese shop (Käserei, cut the word off in the photo) next to Cafe Pomeranz, then … BAKLAVA. Two classes: pistacio & walnut. Walnut is better. Both are out of this world:
Mail delivery in Berlin:

On the way back home, we got off the S-Bahn on the south side of the Spree across from Friedrichshain and made some wild discoveries, including FreiSchwimmer, a bar/restaurant on a canal:
…and back across the Oberbaumbrücke & through the RAW Gelände to Friedrichshain:
