2025 April 3: Taormina

We returned to Taormina today. Taormina has a main section up on the mountain, and a smaller section at sea-level. From Catania, the bus takes you to the top & the train takes you to the bottom. Last time we took the bus both ways, and it got stuck in a traffic jam on the way home. So we decided to take the bus there, and the train back.
We’d skipped the Greco-Roman amphitheater last time ‘cause the line was long, so we went there first:

Actually there are two sea-level parts of Taormina - one has a beach and a famous park on an island: Isolde Bella, and the other has the train station. There’s a kind of busy 2-lane highway between, not pedestrian safe, so we hiked down to Isolda Bella, back to the top, and down to the train station. A good day’s work.
