Big day today, Fri Feb 6: Met Adrienne’s ballet buddy Kelly for lunch (she’s doing great, started a job this week cataloguing family crests at the College of Arms); visited the Soane Museum (her suggestion), happened on the London Silver Vaults, and had probably our best meal of the London stay, at Ottolenghi in Spittalfields.
After lunch walk down Fleet Street:
The Soane museum. Hidden gem, not prominent in guidebooks. Quite popular though, full of people. Early 19th century architect bought 3 adjacent houses & renovated & filled them with artifacts over the course of many years. Now you can go in & poke around.
Walking from theee to Spittalfields for dinner we passed through Lincoln’s Inn:
And happened across the London Silver Vaults. Essentially a mall with shops that sell nothing but silver, all in an underground vault:
And finally to Ottolenghi. This was the BEST MEAL so far…
Walked 6.4 miles.
