2025 June 29: Fort Tryon, Bed-Stuy with Adrienne

Took the subway WAY up to 190th, Fort George, and onward to Inwood, to Fort Tryon park. Beautiful hilltop park overlooking the Hudson, home of the cloisters.

Subway 1 line to 190th (a ‘da been better but it was having its tracks repaired):

Stopped for coffee @ Cafe Bloom:

Stopped to do our part eradicating the evil invasive spotted lanternfly (different from the indigenous firefly, which btw we’ve been seeing regularly, exquisite):

And into Fort Tryon Park:

Lunch break at Cañave. Nice atmosphere, beautiful and tasty food, but mediocre drinks. Nice spot if you’re in the ‘hood, not worth going out of your way for. Btw had a brief FaceTime session with the pooch:

Back to bed-stuy. Adrienne lived there for a while so naturally knew a slew of cool spots. Had a mini-tour - Barb’s for cocktails, Saraghina for dinner. We’d gotten bread, pastries & coffee several times but never had dinner - I was afraid it’d break the bank. Turns out it was quite reasonable! One of the 2 best overall dining experiences of the month:
