2025 Mar 4: Sailing!

So a while ago I was looking at boat charters for a possible August charter, and came across this Wauquiez 40…you know, same builder as A&E’s that we took to BC and sailed in Alaska with them. A great boat! We walked down to the marina & onto the dock to look for it, and not only found it, but the owner, a Russian called Lev, was on board. He invited us to go out with him for a day to help him check it out for the upcoming season. Needless to say, we accepted. Went out @ 11, came back @ 5, & I got to drive pretty much the whole day. Nice, 8-12 my breeze, just about enough to bury the rail upwind in the gusts. As you know I am never happier than with a wheel or tiller in my hand:

So Lev spends half his time at home in Siberia skiing, and half his time living on the boat here. I have his contact info…
