Labor Day. The library was closed (recall, I’ve been spending my afternoons there to beat the heat), so I did many things, covering 30+ miles on the bike.
Customary 1st stop for cappuccino, this one in The Strip District..

Pittsburgh is home to one of the largest Labor Day parades in the country. I went to see..

There are lots of unions active here..
Then the Heinz History Museum, all about Pittsburgh..
Along the way, the downtown train station..
Then to the South Side Flats, a new borough for me, across the Monongahela..
Lunch..
Cappuccino not here ‘cause their machine was down..

But rather at Big Dog, which was very cool..
There is a funicular up the River canyon to the Mt Washington borough, where there are spectacular views of Pittsburgh & environs..
Back through town..
Including the theater district..
..and after my daily shopping trip to Whole Foods (about a mile), made Leslie’s recommended pasta with ‘shrooms..
