Solo crossing from Sidney to Point Roberts, WA.

Up and out, sunrise + 15 min..

Dang, didn't think to photograph the route plot. Well here it is on Apple Maps. I'm roughly following the ferry route, shown in blue. Red is the US / Canada border..

Oh here it is..

Into the narrow strait between Mayne and Galiano Islands. The things to notice in the 2nd photo are the narrow opening, the fog bank, and the ferry. My thought at this point: gee, I hope that guy doesn't make a hard left and follow the ... ferry ... route.. 3rd photo is ten min later, after some horns and course adjustment. See it? This is what radar is for..

Through the strait..

Had a 2 knot following current - instrument shows 6 knots through the water, nav display shows 8.53 knots made good..

And out into the main Strait of Georgia..

Did US Customs on their handy-dandy mobile app, and in to Point Roberts. Customs dock to get the key from the harbor master, then over to the berth..
