Welcome to September. Today: Fern Hollow Bridge and Frick Park.
Fern Hollow Bridge is an auto bridge that collapsed, sending a bus and car plunging 100 feet into a ravine, back in Feb…coincidentally, the day Biden visited Pittsburgh to tout his infrastructure bill. So I had to have a look.

It’s in Frick Park, a pretty good sized open space right in Pittsburgh, which, as it turns out, includes some single track mtn bike trails. I, prepared with a hybrid bike and sandals slightly too big, was taken by surprise. Fell and aggravated the glut I pulled playing pickleball day-before-yesterday.

On the edge of Frick Park is the former Frick family home, and on the grounds is a carriage and car museum, featuring those used by the family over the years.

This one’s electric.

Also a greenhouse.

That’s all neighbored by Regent Square, among the nice neighborhoods suggested by Caralyn. Nice indeed!
Morning cappuccino at Biddle’s Escape, which accepted apple pay. This having been necessitated by leaving my wallet at home. Remarkable what you can do with just an iPhone these days..

The district ends at the top of the bluff overlooking the Monongahela. Still pretty industrial down below..

Lunch, Library, shopping @ Whole Foods, dinner @ home (last of the arugula with Parmesan & lemon), and here we are.
