Scenes from the S-Bahn around the Ost-Kreuz station, near home, in the former East-Berlin:
On Birgit’s suggestion, we took a walk around the Schlachtensee, a lake on the west side of town that you can walk around in about 90 min, where a lot of people go swimming. Only got 1 pic, on one of the shores there was a row of nice old houses. Kinda reminiscent of Jackson St in the Presidio…

…and back to Friedrichshain for dinner at a Georgian dumpling shop and the daily ice cream:
We learned from David that gold cobblestones engraved with names & dates mark places where Jews were abducted by the Nazis. They're scattered about; once you know of their existence, you start seeing them everywhere. Sobering..
