We met our friend Birgit at Cafe BilderBuch again; it’s quite the hot spot for weekend brunch:

That evening we went to a performance of some Chopin & Mozart at the Berlin Philharmonic, in the ‘Kammersaal’, the small venue for chamber music. Leslie says it was great; I slept:

A random video of the inside of a big S-Bahn station in the center of the city, Alexanderplatz:

We’ve been going to German language school 4 days a week, 3 hours a day. Today (Oct 30) was our 2nd-last day. It’s a 25 minute commute on a bus and an U-Bahn; when we got off the bus I thought I should record the commute. Didn’t get the bus (dang) but here’s the U-Bahn bit.

Arrival at Wittenberg Platz:

So the philharmonic puts on a free show in the lobby every Wednesday; this week was Bach’s Goldberg Variations performed by a solo piano. Outta this world.

Afterward we walked over to Kreuzberg to Mr Minsch, recommended by Leslie’s teacher Mika, for cake. Very good.

Next day after class we rode out to the Olympic Stadium, famous for being the venue for the 1936 Olympics. Jesse Owens! It’s huge, and still in use:

Well I think that’s it for October. We’ve been here two months, one to go.
