Spent 4 days graciously hosted by dear old friends Kathy & Byron, who moved to Travelers Rest South Carolina several years ago, and are in the finishing stages of building a new house. It's beautiful!

Day 1 we went for a hike to Poinsett Bridge, built in 1820 for carriage passengers between Greenville & Asheville:
Day 2 to Brevard for window shopping and then Greenville for dinner:
Day 3 a strenuous hike to Table Rock:
Day 4 to Asheville and the Biltmore estate by ourselves. Happened across a place in Asheville offering 15-minute massages, indulged ourselves:

Biltmore is amazing, on par with Versailles. American royalty are the industrialists: Cornelius Vanderbilt did rr’s & shipping. It's on 8,000 acres. We did a tour of the house and grounds, and a wine-tasting at the winery. The house tour is guided by an audio device, in the grounds yer on yer own.
