Leaving Sicily Monday AM.

Saturday 5th:

This is the original facade of the Catania Cathedral, built in the 11th century. The cathedral was razed by earthquake in 1693, but the facade survived and was moved eventually here, to the Sant’Agata al Carcere, where Saint Agata (patron saint of Catania) was imprisoned:

A 13th century cloister:

Adjacent Chiesa di San Benedetto:

That evening we had pizza @ Maniscalco Salvatore Giuseppe Pan dei Sole:

Good pizza, good lemon soda - not too sweet.

Sunday 6th:

Took a walk by myself down to the marina. Pretty good sized, lots of boats. Hard to get up close:

Lunch @ Chef Dede (recommended):

Up onto the roof of Chiese Badia di Sant Agata:

Before dinner drinks at probably our favorite pub (which we discovered on day 1 but never made it back to), BarnAut:

…and the bus out of town, 9:25AM Monday:
