2025 April 7: travel to Salerno

8 hour bus to Salerno; 9:30 AM to 5:30PM, including a ferry crossing from Messina, on Sicily, to mainland Calabria, Italy:

Nice pizza & peroni in a little shop in Salerno, overnight at Grandmother’s House.

We chose Grandmother’s House ‘cause it was near the main bus station. Unfortunately our bus didn’t go there, rather it went to a stop near the ferry terminal.

So we tried Bounce, an AirBNB-like app for baggage storage. People with lockable closets subscribe, you book them through the app. Ours was in a storage closet in the back of a bar across from the ferry terminal. A good idea, very useful for us - we didn’t have to schlep the two 20kg bags across town.
