Tuesday Feb 4, 11 AM tour of the British Library, 5pm meet Sarah @ 5:45 dinner res in The Borough.
Arrived at the King’s Cross / St Pancras tube station; it’s spectacular:
The library is amazing, in the must-see list. King Charles III collection of 80,000 18th century & earlier books, The Turing Test original, the Magna Carta one of 3 original 1225 version, and of course a hand-written draft of The Spanish Inquisition’…much more:
Walking through Bloomsbury, lunch at ‘fork’:
The Borough is an historic outdoor market underneath a mesh of train track overpasses on the south side of the Thames. Very interesting!
Met Sarah at Swift, an excellent bar on the Borough High Street:

Bought bread at St John Bakery, an outpost of a London institution created by Fergal Henderson, which we coincidentally learned about yesterday from long-time friend Kate Ferguson, also on the Borough High Street:

And dinner at Elliot’s, highly recommended:

Short walk back through the Borough Market to the tube back home:
Walked 5.2 miles.
