Our street (600 block of Jefferson Ave) in the AM:

Took the A train to Rockaway beach, where we met Adrienne’s buddies Bri, Toni and Richard. A beautiful day! It’s typically 5 degrees cooler there than NYC (e.g. 80 vs 85 today). Snacks after at Tacoway Beach, a classic beach taco stand, looks like roots in a surf club:

Turns out those clouds and the distant thunderclaps we heard were for real: got back to Brooklyn in the aftermath of a major thunder storm. Clean air, lots of tree litter on the streets.

August left his stuff in the apt, we met him at Chez Oskar, a French restaurant near the A line (pretty much the go-to line from here) to give it to him so he could bolt for JFK. Chez Oskar: very nice vibe, would like to try the food…I had a Phony Negroni:

Fri June 20 - Central Park:

The kitchen photo is in the Tavern on the Green, (if you don’t know it) an iconic CP locale.

Back home for an afternoon interlude; there’s a section of Stuyvesant Ave between Fulton (the subway stop) & our apt on Jefferson with several beautiful brownstones (last photo is Bainbridge):

And then, back into Manhattan to meet Adrienne for a ballet at Lincoln Center. For them, that is. While waiting for her, we scouted several potential dinner spots. Landed on Sala Thai (which Adrienne had found on yelp - no photos, but excellent! Amsterdam Ave); but one of the places was the 74th st cafe (above Fairway Market), and they said we’d have to be out soon ‘cause there was gonna be a comedy show there later. Put on by Don’t Tell Comedy, which puts on shows around town, keeping performers & locations secret. Huh. So I did that during the ballet:

Notes:

1 RBA, I didn’t realize Fordham was here! Were you here?

2 dang, Paul Simon!!

Afterword, we discovered the secret Gotham City underworld trains. Very eerie in the late night darkness:
