August here!
Fri June 13:
Chinatown with August. Excellent lunch from Yi Ji Shi Mo Noodle Corp. picked it up there, ate in Columbus Park, the only open seats across from the highly amplified amateur Chinese Karaoke. Well the food was excellent.
Stopped for a rest in Washington Square Park…
…on the way to meet Adrienne at the Frick:
Late night in the village at Terra Blues NYC:
(almost bought goggles for b.m. at the shown costume shop)
Sat June 14:
Met Adrienne at Grand Central…
…for the trek out to Flushing Queens…which is indistinguishable from Beijing:
Lunch at 3 places. 1: Peking duck (dang, cut off the name) on 40th rd, 2: dumplings at Lou Lou Sheng Jian, in the basement food court of the New World Mall (you must go through the grocery store to find the secret stairway down), 3: rice rolls at White Bear.
Tickets that evening for the Broadway show ‘John Proctor is the Villain’ with our good friends Fiona & Ann, in from DC & LG respectively. The play delivered its message well - highly recommended (d’oh - no photos). Stroll through Hudson Yards on the way there, Times Square after:
Sun June 15:
Huh. No photos, dunno what we did.
Mon June 16:
Williamsburg & Greenpoint during the day:
11:30 (!) comedy show at The Comedy Cellar in the village. They seated us in the front row. Why? I became known to the 4 comics as ‘the patriarch’. Home @ 3 on the subway:

Tuesday June 17:
Williamsburg in the day, most notably at Devocion Cafe - excellent coffee & atmosphere, must see:
Dinner at the Red Hook Tavern. ‘One of 10 best hamburgers in US’. Well most of the food was excellent, but the exception was the hamburger, which was only OK. Romain salad, ‘bacon on the side’:
Live blues duo afterward at Sunny’s:
Wednesday June 18:
Google has anoffice in the Chelsea Market; August worked there today. We met him for lunch in Pier 57, he gave us a tour of the offices. Very nice! Chelsea Market, Hudson Yards, Little Island, Highline:
Strolled through the village on the way home for a quiet evening (children’s @ a birthday party); stopped @ NorthFork for happy hour April spritz (me) & chenin blanc (her):

August bolts back to SF tomorrow.
