Saturday June 7:
Met the small child at The Met, spent a couple hours mostly in the John Singer Sargent exhibit, then a stroll through Central Park:
Sunday June 8:
morning in Prospect Park Botanical Garden:
Afternoon took the ferry out to Governors Island & watched some SailGP:
Monday June 9:
strolled Greenwich Village:
Tuesday June 10:
We’d heard that the Gowanus Canal, a cesspool between Park Slope and Red Hook, was being cleaned up & revitalized. I went down in the AM
to have a look. It’s a work in progress; lots of new residential construction but the canal itself still smells like shit:
That evening was the Museum Mile festival, 5th Ave park west closed to traffic, several museums open. We went to the New York City Museum, highly recommended (no pics, sorry). Took the A train to Harlem first; had a snack at the Red Rooster, which Leslie knew about:
August arrived, was @ the apt when we returned.
Wednesday June 11:
Little Italy & Chinatown in the AM, had traditional dim sum, carts & all, at House of Joy. Excellent, must see. We were the only non-Asians:
Met the children for dinner at Bar Belly. Happy hour, $1 oysters. We had a dozen apiece:

Thursday June 12:
AM strolled Crown Heights:

PM with August through Williamsburg and Green Point:
(Pizza at L’industrie Pizzaria, snacks at Five Leaves, both very good)
