Ventured out, in an Uber, to a town 7 miles south of Valparaiso, on a beach with a lagoon similar to Stinson. We got dropped off at the highway, and walked the mile or so to the beach. On the way we passed by this place "Restaurant Galleon', and this guy coming the other way told us (in spanish), if we were looking for lunch, this was the place. He was right; it was excellent and fun:
On to the beach. Beautiful, coarse sand, crystal clear water, blue skies, the obligatory cement plant, fortunately enough off to the side to not be too noticeable. We shared our end of the beach with Elle, her dog Theodor and their parents:
It was relaxing:

Bus ride around the face of the mountain back to Valparaiso/Playa Ancha:
Got off in Barrio Puerto. The commercial port is quite large & busy with container traffic:
walked up the hill from Plaza Sotomayor & the Navy HQ building, home:
Walked 3.4 miles.
