West coast: Ucluelet and Tofino are small towns at either end of a section of coast with nice beaches, popular among surfers.

Up early enough for sunrise (fortunately that's 7:30)..
The tip of the peninsula is a nicely maintained park. Facing southeast..
Across to the southwest..
Zoom in, that's an eagle..

Back into Ucluelet for breakfast..
And up the coast road past the beaches toward Tofino. Remember, it's October on Vancouver island..
Tofino is also at the tip of a peninsula, this one facing northwest. Jeff recommended it, btw; apparently it's something of a foodie hangout during the summer. Not so much this time of year, although you can easily imagine it.
Also, at least one eagle lives here..
The town faces the inlet, to the northeast..
And, like Ucluelet, the tip of the peninsula is a park. I was there for sunset..
Then back to the AirBNB trailer. Turns out it's the owner's annual pig roast, and I was welcome to join. Lots of surfers, lots of food & drink, Geoff Johnson on the guitar..
